Roger Johnson
Visitation Minister

I Peter 4:10-11

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others... so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

It has been a blessing to see our church grow through the years. The faithfulness of the early immigrant families who worked together to establish a witness for Jesus Christ has provided a strong foundation for those who have come after and have continued the work that was started. My parents were a part of those early immigrant families, working with others in the church fellowship and teaching their families to follow God. Along with many others, in my growing up days I was given opportunities to learn and to serve in different ways to be a part of the ministries of this church. After retiring as an ass't. drector of the MN DNR minerals division I have been serving on a voluntary basis in the visitation ministry which has been a special blessing to me. This ministry includes visiting people in the hospitals and rest homes and helping those with special needs. These opportunities bless us as well as bless the ones we help in these situations.

There are many different ways we can show the love of Jesus----taking time to visit, bringing a fresh baked loaf of bread or cookies, doing errands, or helping with a project. Our church has many willing workers serving in these ways and everyone can be a part of this ministry reaching out with love, and the blessings will be multiplied. For those who are interested in serving in this way but not certain of what is needed contact me or the church office. May God help us to have our eyes and ears open to the needs around us. May we be willing workers expressing the love of Jesus in ways that would bring Glory and Praise to His Name.
